Sewing Project Ticket: Simplicity 3893 [17 May 2007|10:40pm] Sewing is therapy. Sewing is love. Sewing is inspiration. It forces me to slow down. It humbles me by making me to meticulously rip out my mistakes. Its satisfying because I get to wear my accomplishments out the door. My latest project (above) is my favorite yet. Its like a fashion forward sweatshirt. Comfy but fancy enough to wear to work. I have already started this same pattern in a teal jersey fabric with a navy trim. My next project is more ambitious: a jacket in a heavier fabric (a navy canvas material). I have a feeling that my $99 sewing machine will soon break under the pressure. My mom has promised to bring up her sewing machine soon, she's had it for 30 years and much of my childhood wardrobe was sewn with it. I can't wait.
